Marcel Breuer was an apprentice at the Bauhaus in 1925 when he came up with the design idea for the famous Wassily chair. The Laccio tables were designed as the companion to the chair but have since become a classic in their own right for any environment. The frame was inspired by the tubular frame of a bicycle. It was revolutionary in the use of the materials (bent tubular steel) and methods of manufacturing. It is now considered one of the most iconic tables of the 20th Century.
