This is a stylish Eames ply and premium stainless steel DCM (Dining Chair Metal).
Designed by Eames in 1946 after experiments that had been commissioned by the US Navy. Designed to fit the contours of the human body, it is comfortable, practical, and lightweight. Thin sheets of ply are molded together to produce the curved shapes that are joined to the stainless steel frame by rubber shock mounts which absorb movement.
It was named, "Best Design of the 20th Century", by Time Magazine and has a permanent place in New York's, Museum of Modern Art. Suitable in a multitude of residential and commercial environments.
