The Eames Lounge Chair Wood (LCW) is a chair designed by husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames, considered to be one of the most influential design teams of the 20th century. This chair is considered their breakthrough.
The chair was designed using technology for molding plywood that the Eames developed prior to, and during, the Second World War.
Designed to fit the contours of the human body, it is comfortable, practical, and lightweight. Thin sheets of ply are molded together to produce the curved shapes of the seat and backrest joined by a plywood lumbar support, and plywood legs.
