The Barcelona Chair was originally displayed in the German Pavilion, for Germany's exhibition within the 1929 Barcelona World Fair.

The frame is made from premium #304 solid core stainless steel and the cushion is covered in genuine premium Italian full grain leather. The straps are made from bonded leather and riveted to the frame.
